A technical account of unified recruiting, onboarding, credential management, workforce planning, and people operations for a regional health system.
Paper onboarding and spreadsheet-based certification tracking shaped every design choice. Disconnected workforce records also made clinical compliance central to the architecture.
The health system lacked a shared view of skills, credentials, and succession readiness. Recruiting teams could not use workforce data for internal mobility or seasonal planning.
Onboarding depended on physical signatures. Certification compliance and renewal tracking lived in spreadsheets. Payroll and benefits processes also varied across facilities.
Exafort configured Workday HCM as the shared system for employee data and workforce processes. Workday Recruiting supported candidate workflows and skills-based matching.
Workday Talent Management carried skills and succession data. Workday Compensation supported compensation workflows and market data integration.
Workday Adaptive Planning supplied workforce scenario modeling. Workday Prism Analytics and Workday Extend supported analytics and tailored workflow needs.
Clinical credential data could not be treated as a general employee attribute. The design gave verification, expiration, and renewal their own workflow controls.
Digital onboarding combined electronic signatures with credential verification. It also initiated system provisioning from the same workflow.
Predictive attrition modeling used historical turnover data. Manager alerts and compensation review workflows provided a defined response path.
The work began with HR process review, union agreement review, and compliance mapping. Configuration followed the facility-cluster approach described in the source material.
Core HR and payroll established the employee record and manager workflows. Recruiting and onboarding then connected candidate selection, credential checks, electronic signatures, and provisioning.
Workforce planning and executive analytics used the same governed data foundation. This kept recruiting, talent, compensation, and compliance processes within the Workday operating model.
The delivered scope was a connected HCM design rather than a set of isolated HR automations. Each module was configured around the constraints of clinical workforce administration.
