Forward-Deployed Engineer

Overview

The Forward-Deployed Engineer will embed with Exafort's clients to design, build, and deploy AI solutions in production enterprise environments. You will work at the intersection of generative AI and business systems, building AI agents and agentic workflows that operate across Oracle NetSuite, Salesforce, and Workday under approval gates and audit trails. You will own engagements end to end, from the readiness assessment findings through scoped builds to production rollout, ensuring clients move their records to action with governed, observable automation.

Objectives & Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents and agentic AI workflows for enterprise clients across ERP, CRM, and HR systems of record
• Lead AI transformation initiatives on client engagements, from discovery and solution architecture through production deployment and adoption
• Implement governed execution patterns, including human-in-the-loop approval gates, audit trails, and multi-agent pipelines
• Build document intelligence, retrieval (RAG) applications, and cross-system workflows that integrate AI capabilities with Oracle NetSuite, Salesforce, and Workday
• Translate assessment findings into scoped, phased implementation plans with clear controls and measurable outcomes
• Collaborate with project managers and account executives on scoping, proposals, and client-facing solution presentations
• Instrument agents for observability, evaluate output quality, and iterate safely in live business processes
• Establish reusable patterns, guardrails, and reference implementations that raise delivery quality across engagements

Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall software engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience building AI solutions and AI transformation projects for enterprises, including AI agents and agentic AI workflows
• Proficiency in Python and modern AI application frameworks, with hands-on LLM integration experience (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar)
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and evaluation of AI agent behavior in production
• Working knowledge of at least one enterprise platform such as Oracle NetSuite, Salesforce, or Workday and how business processes run across them
• Experience designing human-in-the-loop controls, approval workflows, and auditability into automated systems
• Strong cloud fundamentals (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and software engineering best practices
• Comfort operating directly with clients in forward-deployed settings, including workshops, demos, and production support
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related field is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
