Enterprise Solution Play | Oracle NetSuite and Workday
A coordinated financial close across Oracle NetSuite and Workday.
Systems of Record: Oracle NetSuite and Workday
Financial period close becomes vulnerable when accounting data spans multiple enterprise platforms. Controllers reconcile general ledger balances and intercompany transactions in Oracle NetSuite while pulling payroll summaries, benefit accruals, and workforce allocations from Workday. When data is extracted through spreadsheets or unvalidated scripts, timing differences and account mapping discrepancies emerge. Accounting teams must trace variances by hand, delaying financial consolidation and creating audit vulnerabilities. Without unified cross-system governance, closing the books depends on manual checklists that neither platform is designed to own on its own.
NetSuite OneWorld remains the general ledger and financial system of record, maintaining the chart of accounts, multi-currency translations, subledger journal postings, and intercompany eliminations. Close Management in NetSuite Next (announced at SuiteWorld 2025 and coming to existing customers with no data migration required) monitors, reconciles and analyzes transactions, helping teams spot variances faster, with built-in controls inside the NetSuite environment.
Workday maintains supervisory structures, worker compensation profiles, benefits calculations, and payroll disbursements. Native Workday Business Process Frameworks govern payroll approval cycles, bonus calculations, and workforce expense approvals before accounting summaries are generated.
Governed execution links the operational close milestones in Workday with the financial close schedule in NetSuite. Instead of accounting teams cross-checking payroll summaries and equity journals manually at period end, governed execution coordinates dependencies across both platforms. Subledger entries are verified against source records, multi-entity cost allocations are confirmed prior to ledger posting, and intercompany imbalances trigger alerts before closing windows shut. Depending on what the assessment finds, governed execution can be implemented through native platform workflows, integration logic, or a dedicated execution layer.
Where the process needs a dedicated execution layer, we use VeroTX. Under VeroTX, period-close procedures run as a Finance Ops WorkStream defined by a Playbook. Tasks that cross system boundaries are tracked in sequence, ensuring prerequisite operational closes are verified before dependent accounting periods lock. Every agent action and human decision is recorded on the Execution Ledger.
Verification that net payroll disbursements and tax liabilities in Workday balance with payroll clearing entries in NetSuite prior to final ledger posting. (Applied when VeroTX is used: a Playbook can be configured to verify Workday payroll totals against bank clearing accounts before posting.)
Automated confirmation that reciprocal transactions across operating subsidiaries balance to zero before consolidation journals generate.
Continuous monitoring of department, subsidiary, and cost center dimension mappings to prevent unmapped or orphaned transactions during period closes.
Tracking of all period-close approvals, reconciliation sign-offs and manual journal justifications across both systems. (Applied when VeroTX is used.)
Phase 1
We review your close calendar, chart of accounts, intercompany structure in NetSuite, and payroll accounting flows from Workday. We assess native close management capabilities, pinpoint cross-system friction, and deliver a prioritized first workflow with a go or no-go decision.
Phase 2
We configure NetSuite close management rules, align Workday payroll export mappings, establish reconciliation checkpoints, and, where the assessment shows it is needed, VeroTX Finance Ops.
Phase 3
Continuous monitoring of close workflow stability, testing against each NetSuite release and Workday update, and support coverage tailored to each client, up to 24x7 global support.
A unified OneWorld ledger, transfer pricing engine configuration, workforce costs bridged directly to general ledger accounts, and multi-currency alignment across acquired entities.
